Back to the Beach

The outdoor shower and foot-wash was a big hit with everyone.

Everyone found beautiful shells on our shell-walk. The beaches are covered in shells.

Silas and Sagey both loved the water. Silas was more cautious, though his swimming is really coming along. Sagey can swim, and sometimes does by accident, but she terrifies herself, and does not think she wants to swim. However, she loves the water, and is completely fearless (frighteningly so). She loves the action and sounds of the waves. We had beautiful swimming days, perfect weather.

After the Boat Ride

Our hosts, Juliana, Pamela, and Francesca

Captain David told me after our ride "bring Silas back every year, let him keep asking questions, and when he has a question I can't answer, I will go find the answer." Many people who meet Silas express similar sentiments!

We saw many Jellyfish in the water, though luckily avoided any encounters!

The girls checked out the jellyfish from a safe distance.

Happy Boaters

Juliana and Sagey view the giant osprey sculpture, a memorial to 9/11. The bird is perched atop trade center debris.

Sagey and Juliana Get a Better View

Sagey and Juliana found Captain David's binoculars. They were both very serious.

Silas steering the boat

Concentrating through heavy seas...

Silas felt ELATED after safely steering the boat.

Silas Drives the Boat!

After Sagey finished up, Silas took the helm. Silas had plenty of questions about battery cells and other topics for Captain David.

Sagey drove the boat!

Ahoy!

The Green Boat

We road on Captain Dave's boat, the only coast guard certified "green" boat in the LI waters....

Captain Dave had plenty to say and the kids listened reverently

Pamela keeps the little ones from going overboard....

At the beach house, the kids put on a "carnival." This is their strategic planning meeting.

Sagey and Juliana enjoy a stroll in town

A visit with friends

Silas' good friend, Francesca, and her family, invited us to stay at their beach house for a few days. Silas and Francesca had a wonderful, memorable visit together. Sagey and Juliana also had a great time.
