When Silas first saw the beautiful expanse of Moonlight Beach he complained, "Mommy, I didn't want the sand to be white." He was used to the ground-up-building-material-dust in our nyc sandboxes..... Sagey immediately squatted in a patch of sand in the parking lot and started to dig. I convinced them to walk to the beach. They played in the sand for a long time before I pointed out that there was an ocean too....they finally looked up from their sand play and ran toward the water. They were both thrilled, but Sagey was completely delighted. She ran right in despite the freezing temperature and huge waves....
