Courge Halloween

Both kids were excited to scoop at first, then Silas decided it was too gross, though Sagey remained enthralled. Sagey even tasted the raw pumpkin guts and claimed she liked it.

Silas did the eyes and eyebrows, Sagey the mouth and nose.

We looked for a pumpkin all over, dispatched Bill to find a pumpkin in Grenoble, unable to find one. The yesterday, Petit Casino had three Courges Halloween! The kids and I deliberated for a while (to the amusement of the cashier, who knows us well by now) and finally chose. All of them had their stems cut off...usually half my choosing criteria is a good stem, but apparently the French cut the stems off their pumpkins before sale....
